Throughout this school quarter there has been things that I have reflected on about one specific class that I, for the time being, possess which is my English class called Rhetoric and style. First I Have reflections for the things I thought before starting on my first day in this class on which I’ve really grown to love throughout time. Then, I’m going to reflect on my reactions and concerns of Rhetoric and Style after actually experiencing my first day of class. Last, I’ll take a moment to cerebrate on my final thoughts, surprises and of course, things that I might have or would have done differently at the end of this particular course. I feel that certain things that I’ve learned from this class will strengthen my writing skills and brighten my future even more and I may just about be able to do almost anything with my new skills especially if I put my mind to it.
Before my first day of Rhetoric and Style, I expected this class to be extremely difficult due to the fact that I have never had any satisfactory experiences with an English class in which I could ever keep up with whatsoever no matter how hard I tried. I also expected for the instructor to be excessively stern and unreasonable because that’s just what I was used to especially during my time in High school. I had concerns about falling so far behind in this class and never being able to catch up on any work and just failing all together. Conclusively, I can say that I was really nervous about this class before even starting it.
After my first day of starting this class I thought to myself about how relaxed and chilled out my instructor was and I wondered how much longer that would last if it was just an act to relax his students. I had a few reactions to this class and one of them were laughing at how funny my instructor actually was, he always made sure to add a couple of jokes here and there to better our mornings and keep us awake in class rather than boring us to sleep with his lecture. After my first day, I was very hopeful and less concerned about how this class would turn out or how I would turn out. I was more hopeful because I realized that the teacher for my April quarter wouldn’t be so hard on his students and try to make the best of their days. I was less concerned because my teacher gave examples of how he wanted our work to look like and guided us through our assignments giving everyone feedback on their work. All in all, I thought it was a great class and that was only the beginning of my learning experience.
Ending this course all of my expectations were exceeded, I was beyond impressed and more educated on a Lot of stuff I didn’t know before. This course did surprise me a lot and I appreciate my instructor for allowing me to take part in his class this spring quarter.
